Hit Locations

When an attack gets through the target’s defenses, reverse the digits of the attack roll and compare the result to the Hit Location table.

For example, a roll of 34 becomes 43, a roll of 07 becomes 70, and a roll of 90 becomes 09. The reversed result is used only to determine Hit Location and does not affect the attack’s success, Hits, or damage.

RollHit Location
01–10Head
11–50Torso
51–60Left Arm
61–70Right Arm
71–85Left Leg
86–00Right Leg

Groups that prefer not to use random Hit Locations may treat attacks as striking the torso by default. Called Shots may still target specific locations and are described later in this chapter.

Damage

Weapons list two damage values: a flat Damage value and one or more Hot Bonus Dice. Roll the Hot Bonus Dice with the attack. If the attack succeeds, their Bonus Hits are included in the attack’s total Hits before defenses are resolved.

Once an attack gets through the target’s defenses, add the weapon’s flat Damage to the attack’s Net Hits.

If the attack is a melee attack, also add the attacker’s Damage Modifier.

Then apply Armor, Armor Penetration, and any other effects that modify damage. The remaining Final Damage is subtracted from the target’s Health.
