Mystics are magically active characters whose magic is directed inward rather than manifested as spells.

Mystics develop Mystic Powers that enhance or alter their own capabilities. Some powers are permanently active, while others must be activated when needed.

Mystic Powers are purchased with Power Points derived from Anima. Power Points represent the amount of magical potential a Mystic can invest in their powers. They are not spent during play and do not need to be recovered.

Unlike Spellcasting, Mystic Powers do not normally use Intensity or generate Strain.

Most magically active characters are either Spellcasters or Mystics. Rare individuals are capable of both forms of magic. These characters are known as Hybrid Mystics.

Mystic Powers

Mystic Powers are supernatural abilities developed by Mystics through their Anima.

Mystic Powers only affect the Mystic themselves or abilities that originate from their own body. They do not function as spells and cannot normally be used to directly place magical effects on other creatures, objects, or areas.

Mystic Powers are purchased with Power Points. Each power has a listed Power Point cost.

If a Mystic Power requires an action, activation cost, duration, test, or other condition, its entry in the Mystic Power Catalogue specifies those rules.

Mystic Powers do not normally use Intensity, require Concentration, or generate Strain.

Power Points

A Mystic has a number of Power Points equal to their Anima.

Power Points are used to acquire Mystic Powers. Each power has a listed Power Point cost, and the total cost of a Mystic’s powers cannot exceed their available Power Points.

Power Points are not spent when a power is used. They represent the amount of magical potential the Mystic has invested in their abilities.

When a Mystic’s Anima increases, their available Power Points increase by the same amount. These additional points may be used to learn new Mystic Powers during play.

Mystic Power Catalogue

This section will contain the core Mystic Powers available in Static Veil.

Each power entry will define its Power Point cost and any activation, duration, test, limitation, or other rules required to use it.

NOTE

The Mystic Power Catalogue is still in development.
